well said my friend. I burnt out about three weeks ago and have found myself thinking, what if I just did NOTHING after work instead of [writing, reading, taking book photos, planning content, cooking exercising, cleaning] many, many times.
So many of us have been walking around carrying so much anxiety, hoping against all odds. The defeat feels so personal for so many reasons. I am having trouble reading right now and I have literally burned every single meal I have tried to cook this week. I think my mind is just.... elsewhere.
Oh, Haley. <3 I love this so much. It's taking me until today, Sunday, to open Substack and start reading again. I just couldn't do it. I love that you point out that even those of us who deal in the business of words can sometimes fail us, especially when we want/need them the most. It's heartbreaking but also... illuminating in a way. I'm so glad you're taking care of yourself (and I love the bit about your cats!).
Hi Elle! Were you using the app? Your comment seemed to come through okay here, but I've noticed the app sometimes behaves funnily when I'm commenting or leaving likes.

Schitt’s Creek is such a perfect tv show. A perfect vibe for the moment. Especially when Moira does the fruit wine commercial 🤣
"for the love of god, let’s find whatever feels good and hold onto it" Amen and amen.
Beautiful. I would read whatever words you write, Haley. Sending peaceful vibes your way ❤️ ✨️
Lovely words, Haley. More will come in due time. You haven’t stopped being you.
Loved the way you homed in on this, Haley. So well-described.
Beautiful beautiful words. 🩷 I also had to put the Jackson down. And then no books were helping. Sometimes we just need space.
"The words will come. They always do." <3

Anyone notice people’s comments getting their endings cut off? Is it just me?
