It has been such a wonderful expérience! Slowing down gave me the opportunity to appreciate and better understand the novel and recognize my feelings about the story.

Thank you very much !

Ditto and ditto! It’s been such a great experience, I’ve loved every minute of it. I won’t be with you for the next two reads bc I am doing Moonstone, but I’ll be back for Middlemarch-and I’m really excited to experience a previously unread book with you.

Loved this experience Hayley and was surprised by how much more I absorbed and enjoyed the novel by slowing down.

Thank you for all of your time and effort. This has been my first experience of closely reading and I’ll be with you for Yonnondio

We are doing two shorter works next—“Life in the Iron Mills” and “Yonnondio” — and then we’ll move into Middlemarch at the end of May! 🧡

So I noticed in this close read of Pride and Prejudice that often while reading and especially when finishing the last page of a book, I instinctively look out a window. Maybe I do this to pull myself out of that alternate world and reconnect with my own reality? In your series on becoming a close(r) reader you gave us an exercise to consider the environment where we like to read. I went back to the Pinterest board I created of reading nooks that appealed to me and lo and behold 9/10 of them have a window. So aside from everything I discovered from close reading this particular novel, I also discovered something new about myself. I can't thank you enough for your time and effort in creating this body of work and sharing it.
