This was a great interview! It was kind of justifying for me as I, too, am a "crack of dawn" reader (I wake up at 5 AM every day so I can read for two hours before leaving for work). I wonder how many others feel the need to do it first thing in the morning. It's like a meditation for me.

I would like to adopt this habit too, as like Christina, I often fall asleep when I try to read at bedtime. But I always ended up getting distracted...any advice for a better morning reading habit greatly received! 😀

Ten deep breathes followed by a very large cup of coffee ;-). I also sit at a table as opposed to a comfortable chair - and usually rotate between three books just to keep my brain busy. I don't write in my books either. I actually take notes and write quotes down in a notebook. Again, all in an effort to just keep my brain engaged.

Thank you, Patrick! I am totally on board with the coffee...the conscious breathing is a good idea though, as it might help to focus. I like the sound of your quote book! : )

Loved this interview! Christina's reading interests align very much with my own. Also this: "Writing is thinking, thinking in writing". Thank you for sharing that 😀
