Hello, my friend.
Iβve always been a βhold it in my handsβ person.
Itβs why I love to buy my books and write in them.
Why I held onto a giant box full of DVDs, even though you can stream it all.
Why I like to journal on paper with stickers and washi tape and pens and highlighters. Hold hands. Write birthday cards with extra-long greetings. Send postcards in the mail. Make things out of clay.
And itβs why I especially love expressing myself with everyday items, like hats and mugs and buttons.
The Closely Reading shop is now open!
This small, curated collection of bookish goods is designed to make reading feel more tactile, warm, and intentional. And I wanted objects that help us take our closely reading time seriously: a mug that insists on a slower sip, buttons that celebrate our favorite characters and reads, a hat that makes your next library run feel like a ritual.
Sharing the same name as my Substack, the Closely Reading shop is filled with literary-inspired hats (I wear a hat almost every day, so it had to happen!), as well as some big-logo mugs and bookish buttons inspired by our read-a-longs.
